With the summer upon us, please remember your local food pantries. With kids home from school parents feel the extra crunch of more meals. Donations for Matthew’s Place is collected here on the first Sunday of each month and donations for our Helping Hands food pantry is any time the church office is open. Thank you to all who contribute already!! Your help is greatly appreciated!

United Methodist Book Club: The next meeting of our book club will be held on Wednesday, September 26th at 2:00 p.m. in the library. We are reading “The Dressmaker of Khair Khana” by Gayle Tzemach Lemmon and Gale Cengage Learning. This book is in the Education for Mission category in the UMW reading program. All interested readers are invited to participate. Please check the clipboard in the Narthex for a detailed description of the book and to sign up. This book is available through the Mid-York library system and can be borrowed through the Erwin library if you don’t wish to purchase it.
MercyMe (I Can Only Imagine) is coming to the area on Nov. 2nd! If we have enough interest, we can get discounted tickets at $22.50. We have a signup sheet in the Narthex so if you are interested be sure to sign your name, phone number & how many tickets you would need.
Pastor Jack will be teaching a 6-week class beginning on Wednesday, September 5th and running through to October 10th from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. The book will be “CREED – What Christians Believe and Why” by Adam Hamilton.  This study will be exploring the Apostle’s Creed (which you can find on page 881 in the blue hymnal). We have 11 books available to borrow through the Conference Office or you can purchase yours through a variety of ways. Check with Crystal in the church office at 315-942-2626.
