Parish Nursing
The Parish Nurse Program is international in scope and has been integrated into New Creations Ministries, of which Boonville United Methodist Church is a part.
Its purpose is:
- to integrate faith and health
- to be a health educator -
- present health-related classes and interpret medical literature
- to be a health counselor -
- assessing needs of our congregation and community
- to provide health screening
- visitation and follow-up in homes, hospitals, etc.
- to be a referral advisor
- to be a health advocate -
- helping individuals get health services and care that's available
- to develop support groups
- to recruit volunteers.
